Engine cooling system.

Filling and Bleeding[]

Coolant should be a 50/50 mix of anti-freeze and water.  Open the bleed screw on the heater core, and the heater valve.  Unclip the expantion bottle and hold it as high as possible, and fill the system through it.  As soon as the coolant flows out of the bleed screw, close it.  Fill the coolant expansion bottle until it's 25% full, then close it.

Run the engine until it's warm and the thermostat is open.  Open the bleed screw, and when only coolant and no air flows out, close it.  Reinstall the coolant expansion bottle.  When cold it should be 25% full, and 50% full when hot.

Vehicles With Rear Heaters and/or Motoraid Water Heater

During the bleeding procedure, the rear heater valve must be opened for at least 50% of the time.  Elevating the front of the vehicle will help purge air from the system.
